Amberd Fortress is a historic medieval stronghold perched on the slopes of Mount Aragats, offering breathtaking views and a glimpse into Armenia's rich past.
Kari Lake is a picturesque alpine lake located on the slopes of Mount Aragats, known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning mountain scenery.
Mount Aragats is Armenia's highest peak, offering spectacular views, diverse landscapes, and a rich cultural history.
The Armenian Alphabet Monument is a tribute to the creators of the Armenian script, featuring giant stone letters set against the scenic backdrop of Mount Aragats.
Amberd Fortress
Amberd is a 7th-century fortress located on the slopes of Mount Aragats. Some sources say that Amberd used to be a summer residence for kings. There is the bath house south of the fortress that was built between the 10th and 11th centuries and Vahramashen, 11th-century Armenian church.
Lake Kari
Lake Kari is situated on the slope of Mount Aragats at an altitude of 3,207 meters above sea level. With a depth of 9 meters, this glacial lake is known for its cold waters. The pristine setting and stunning views make it a popular spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
Mt. Aragats
Mount Aragats, Armenia's highest peak at 4,090 meters, is a volcanic giant with a broad summit and stunning panoramic views. The mountain features glacial lakes, like Lake Kari, and diverse hiking trails that attract nature enthusiasts and adventurers. Its striking landscape and cultural significance make it a prominent landmark in Armenia.
Armenian Alphabet Monument
The Armenian Alphabet Monument, completed in 2005 to mark the 1,600th anniversary of the Armenian alphabet, features all 39 letters of the script and a statue of the 12th-century scholar Mkhitar Gosh. Nearby, a 33-meter-tall Holy Cross, constructed from numerous smaller crosses, stands on a hill overlooking the monument.
